Terms of Service
Effective October 19, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you (the business using RingKept) and RingKept LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using ringkept.org, you agree to them.
1. What RingKept does
RingKept provides an AI phone receptionist that answers calls forwarded to a phone number we assign you, takes messages, collects appointment requests and, on eligible plans, books appointments on a calendar you connect. We send you call details by email, app notification, and your dashboard.
2. Your account
You must be at least 18 and authorized to act for your business. Keep your login secure; you're responsible for activity on your account. Give us accurate information and keep it current.
3. Plans, billing, and cancellation
- Plans are billed monthly in advance through our payment processor, Stripe, and renew automatically until canceled.
- You can change plans or cancel anytime under Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and your receptionist stops answering after that.
- Payments are non-refundable except as stated here. Setup guarantee: if your RingKept line isn't live within 14 days of your first payment, we'll refund that payment in full on request.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. Changes apply from your next billing period.
4. Call limits, fair use, and extra calls
- Each plan includes a number of answered calls per calendar month, counted in your business's time zone: Starter 100, Pro 300, Business 750, and High-Volume 2,000.
- Only calls that last 15 seconds or longer count. Hang-ups, wrong numbers, and robocalls that end in under 15 seconds don't count toward your limit.
- Your receptionist never stops answering when you reach your limit. We email you when you've used 80% and 100% of your calls for the month, and your dashboard shows your usage.
- Starter, Pro, and Business: there's no charge for extra calls. If you go over your limit two months in a row, we may ask you to move to a plan that fits your call volume. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before any extra-call charge applies to these plans.
- High-Volume: each counted call over 2,000 in a calendar month costs $0.50. Extra calls are added to your next monthly invoice as a separate line, and we email you the total first.
- Fair use: RingKept is for calls to your own business. You may not use a RingKept line for automated or bulk calling, as a call center for other businesses, or to deliberately run up usage. If call activity looks automated or abusive, we may filter those calls, contact you about a custom plan, or suspend the line after notice to you.
5. Your responsibilities
- Call recording. Calls are recorded and transcribed. We add a notice to your greeting that calls may be recorded. You're responsible for complying with recording, consent, and privacy laws that apply to you and your callers.
- Follow-up. You're responsible for returning calls, confirming appointments, and anything you promise callers. Follow-up calls and texts you make must comply with telemarketing and messaging laws.
- Not for emergencies. RingKept isn't an emergency service. The receptionist tells callers in danger to hang up and call 911.
- No sensitive data. Don't use RingKept to collect payment card numbers, Social Security numbers, or protected health information. RingKept isn't designed for HIPAA-covered communications.
- Acceptable use. Don't use RingKept for anything unlawful, deceptive, harassing, or to impersonate others, and don't interfere with or attempt to access the service in unauthorized ways.
6. How the AI works
The receptionist uses automated speech recognition and AI. It can mishear names or numbers, misunderstand requests, or occasionally make mistakes, including with calendar bookings. Review transcripts and recordings, and confirm important details with your callers. Summaries and estimates in your dashboard, such as estimated revenue recovered, are informational.
7. Phone numbers
The RingKept number assigned to you is provided through our telephone provider for use with the service. We may release it after your account is canceled.
8. Data
You own your business information and the call records collected for you. You authorize us to process them to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. We use trusted providers, including our telephone, AI, email, hosting, and payment providers, to run RingKept.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep RingKept running at all times but can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Calls may be missed during outages of our providers or your phone carrier, including if call forwarding is turned off. We may improve or change features over time.
10. Disclaimers and limits of liability
RingKept is provided "as is" to the extent the law allows. We aren't liable for lost profits, lost business, missed calls, or indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose.
11. Ending the agreement
You can stop using RingKept anytime. We may suspend or end accounts that don't pay, break these terms, or put the service or others at risk.
12. Changes to these terms
We'll post updates here and email you about significant changes. Continuing to use RingKept after changes take effect means you accept them.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
